The Germania Erste Karneval Gesellschaft continues the Fifth Season of fun and foolishness by hosting the 2017 Kinderfasching on Sunday, February 18, 2018, beginning at 1:00 pm. The highlight of this Karneval (Fasching) event, which is tailored specifically for children, will be the costume contest with prizes awarded for best costumes as determined by the new prince and princess (Prinzenpaar), Prinz Philip I and Prinzessin Carolyn I!
This season marks the 51th Karneval season at Germania Society. Karneval is celebrated all around the world during the season before Lent, and the Germania Society celebrates the festivities Rheinische (western part of Germany) style, which is known for its parades and costume balls. The Rheinische Karneval season began at 11:11 am on November 11. The season will conclude with the Sweep Out Dance (Kehraus Tanz) held on February 18, 2017.
The 2017 Kinderfasching will be held at the Germania Society Klubhaus at 3529 West Kemper Road. Entertainment will be provided by a DJ, along with performances by the Germania Royal Prinzengarde. Food and beverages will be available for purchase as well as chances for raffles. Cost for the dance is $5 per person. Please contact Evi Washburn to make reservations.
