German Day Week!

German Day Week is upon us… get ready to celebrate the Tri-State’s 121st Deutscher Tag! Everyone is invited to attend. Wear your Trachten and/or your Germania gear and proudly represent our great Klub at these great local German events.

Starting with the German Day Week Keg Tapping on Thursday, June 2, 6pm, at Taft’s Ale House.

Then on Saturday, June 4, 10:30am, German Day Kickoff, with a parade and opening ceremonies taking place at the historic Findlay Market, featuring representatives of area German-American societies, as well as the German heritage of the Market. This will include performances by German dance and music groups as well. If you’d like to participate with other Germania members in the parade, please be there to line up no later than 10:15am, and wear your Germania gear (or Tracht).

At 11:00am on Sunday, June 5, there will be a German Day Mass at Old St. Mary’s Church.

And finally on Sunday, June 5, beginning at 11:00am until 11:00pm, the German Day Celebration continues with fine food, beverages, and German music at the Hofbräuhaus Newport.

This year’s German Day Grand Prize consists of a dinner party for 30 at the Hofbräuhaus (excluding beverages), and a First Prize of a $750.00 gift certificate from Furniture Fair. The GACL will offer hourly raffle prizes throughout the day on Sunday at the Hofbräuhaus, and a grand raffle at 5:30pm.
